How We Set Ourselves Up For Success

No one ever said that making a change in your life would be easy, especially when it comes to changing your eating habits. But we’ve found ways to set ourselves up for success that help us stick to our plans & reach our goals.

Every morning (or the night before), set aside 5 minutes to plan what you will be eating. If you plan your food ahead of time, you avoid last minute bad decisions that usually lead to derailing of your goals. This is where meal prepping REALLY comes in handy. We both cook meals in the beginning of the week, then we know exactly what we will be eating each and everyday. This helps prevent us from going out and grabbing a shitty food because “nothing else was available”.

A great thing about planning meals ahead of time is that we can be sure we are eating well balanced, wholesome, filling, earth grown nutrient dense meals!  We can be sure we are getting the appropriate amounts of protein, fat, & carbs with each meal (this way we aren’t left with 75g of protein to eat in one sitting – because trust us, it is just HARD to eat that much at one time… and it’s not optimal for our bodies to digest that quantity of protein at one time!) Oh, and we can’t forget the best food of all, veggies! Pre-planning meals allows us to have a variety of foods which are guaranteed to help make sure we are getting all of our micronutrients, fiber – vitamins & minerals! Macro nutrients are great, but we can’t ever forget about the all mighty micronutrients. Trust us when we say that eating earth grown nutrients and getting the ample amount of micronutrients will leave you feeling better than you have ever felt before.

If some of you have decided to use an app to help track your food & meals (i.e MyFitnessPal or My Marcos+), we suggest logging your food into your app either the night before or 1st thing that morning (this is what we do ourselves and we can’t imagine our days without this pre-planning!)
